Stillpoint
With Mary DeTurris Poust
September 6 - 8, 2024
The world moves at breakneck speed and expects us to do the same. Why not step outside the
chaos and give yourself a few days to nourish body, mind, and soul? As we enter the beautiful
fall season at Pyramid Life Center, there’s no better time or place to reclaim your serenity and
plant a seed of lasting peace.
Psalm 46 famously tells us, “Be still.” Another translation of this favorite psalm puts it like this:
“Cease striving.” The Stillpoint Retreat strives to help participants learn to embody both of
these transforming instructions, to not only stop our frenetic pace but to let go of our endless
striving to be more, do more, accomplish more.
Join writer and retreat leader Mary DeTurris Poust for a weekend that offers not only time
apart for renewal and restoration, but concrete spiritual practices to create calm amid the
chaos of our everyday lives. We will dabble in a little of everything: prayer, journaling,
creativity, guided meditation, music, movement, and more.
This retreat is anchored by presentations to help us refocus our spiritual lives and guidance on
how to put practices into place once we return to our daily routines. Optional yoga classes will
be offered by Mary, who is a certified yoga teacher. A period of silence will be observed in the
early mornings and through breakfast, providing another beautiful way to connect with the still,
small voice of the Spirit. There will be a limited number of spiritual direction appointments
available for those who are interested.
