Camp Breakaway

June 29 - July 3, 2024

Welcome to Camp Breakaway

It does not seem possible that Camp Breakaway will hold its tenth session this Summer! It has been a journey filled with many changes and some challenges, but all have allowed us to bring youth an opportunity to grow in their relationship with God.  We are blessed to be able to continue camp here at Pyramid Life Center, a place where one is able to truly be in touch with the gifts of nature God has provided.

How would we describe Camp Breakaway? Camp Breakaway is a retreat in God’s creation with camp activities.  A normal day at camp is morning prayer, breakfast, group meetings, lunch, swimming, hiking, basketball, volleyball, relaxing reading by the lake, then dinner, evening social activities and camp fires.  In addition, we are blessed to offer Reconciliation, Adoration, prayer services and  Mass on several different days.

The goal of Camp Breakaway is to instill in the youth that they are part of a large community of believers in Jesus Christ. That community is present during the week and beyond to support them through prayer, gatherings, resources for them to continue the journey after Camp.  One of the great gifts that camp gives our youth is the awareness that there are other Catholic Christian young people in their world – in fact, in their own backyard!

Our staff are all volunteers who have been through the Diocese of Albany Safe Environment  process including training and background checks.  Our waterfront are certified lifeguards and various members of the staff are trained in First Aid and CPR.  We have a licensed nurse on staff. We are certified each year by the Department of Health, who inspects and visits camp to make sure we are following all state standards of operation for a children’s camp.

We ask that you pay special attention to the health forms that need to be submitted.  These forms must be in June 1, 2024 so they can be adequately reviewed to ensure the safety and well-being of ALL campers.

Please let us know if you have any questions, concerns or comments that need to be addressed in order for you and your camper to have the best experience possible.
