A typical day at Camp Breakaway begins with gathering for morning prayer and energizer activity.  Then breakfast is served in the dining hall.

During the day team members for the Middle and High School present information about journeying with God through the camper’s days. These presentations include activities and group discussions on how to keep your relationship with God strong in their everyday lives.  Throughout the day there are team building activities, prayer experiences, physical activities and nature opportunities.

Pyramid Life Center gives the youth a time away from the “noise” of everyday life. A time to reconnect with simple joys and experience nature at its best. Hikes, swimming, canoeing, kayaking, and crafts are offered each day. The center has a basketball and volleyball court which are available during campers’ free time.

Mass is celebrated with the youth planning and fulfilling the liturgical roles. Reconciliation is offered with multiple priests being available for the youth to receive this sacrament. Adoration is offered for the youth to participate in and experience the loving presence of God.  These experiences strengthen the faith that our youth come with, and in the words of a former camper, ’ Breakaway resets my compass toward how God wants me to live, when the world takes me off course.’

The evening affords the opportunity for time to complete some of their group work, and then the social time begins. Middle and High School have appropriate social activities. Then campfires and s’mores bring the day to a close.

Sure is! Camp Breakaway has a Nurse and Lifeguard on staff at all times. Your child is at good hands at Pyramid Life Center. All Cabins are monitored by trained adults and peer-staff.

Pyramid Lake, located in beautiful Paradox NY, is located 6 miles east of Exit 26 on the Adirondack Northway, and about a 90 minute drive from Albany, NY. Pyramid Life Centers location is one of beauty and peace, with non of the typical cities distractions.
